THE ROCKAWAY PARK PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY
RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS
The Chair: The Society will come to order. This is the occasion of the Dean`s Speech which sets the tone for the philosophical year. As usual, I have a request from the Mentor to extend a few words. Mentor, please be brief.
The Mentor: I take note of the accession of the newly installed Societal Hound. Certainly, the Hound`s travails, as a rescued bait dog still bearing the scars of that experience, remind me of my own misfortunes. Perhaps the Hound would profit from an exorcism from the Pastor I`ve run across. I`ve been exorcised two times, but I have not obtained a cure for my maladies.
The Chair: Mentor, you still ascribe to the Democratic Party. Satan resides within you.
The Mentor: The Pastor said something similar but recently has provided me with an oil from the lamps lighting the paths at Gethsemane as a cure for my maladies.
The Chair: Magical cures are not part of Christianity, Mentor. So, if you have nothing else, we`ll proceed, with the Dean`s speech. Dean, we seem to have gotten off easy this year. You may proceed.
The Dean: Thank you Chair, Honored Lords President, Mentor, Gentlemen and Honored Members of this Our Great Society. The principles of The Fullosia will stand when all the silly delusional philosophies are cast aside and left in the dust. As we approach the 50 year anniversary of the Society at the Spring Equinox in 2021, we see all the predictions, collapse and military government made by the Society in 1971 are coming to fruition.
The Wuhan - Corona has introduced earth shattering social changes, particularly with the work environment. Working remote has made it possible for tele - commuting. With increasing urban violence and attacks directed at white people in the major cities, there has been an exodus of the urban professionals from the central cities to the exurbs.
The Mentor: Lord Chair, I must indeed protest. The Dean refers to the pandemic by an offencive name once used by Mr Trump.
The Chair: Mentor, in the current state of disunion, it is not surprising that the factions do not share the same lexicon. Words used by one side may not resonate well in the other. Your point of order is out of order. Lord Dean, you may proceed.
The Mentor: I have another Point of Order, Lord Chair. Much of the upheaval in the cities has been caused by police excesses.
The Chair: I believe the Society has addressed police excesses elsewhere. Out of Order. Proceed Dean.
The Dean: Thank you Chair. The brick - and - mortar edifice has survived most major technological innovations of the 20th century. White collar remote working has been possible since the invention of the telephone. Why has until the alleged Wuhan - Corona virus epidemic hit no one attempted to run businesses remote as a regular practise? The answer has nothing to do with technological possibilities.
Long ago, as an apprentice, a young - en fresh out of school, I was shocked by the expenses incurred by an older attorney in the process of organizing a corporation. It was all for fluff, an unnecessary beautiful corporate book, elaborate meeting records in blank, exquisite blank shares of stock and wordy corporate resolutions. Why not just have an index card file?
"That might work and it would save lots of money," the attorney shook his head, "but that`s not what the client wants to see." What was my friend telling me?
In the context of working remote, certainly, by the time of the television which held the possibility of combining direct visual and auditory communication, the brick - and - mortar edifice was technologically the dinosaur that wouldn`t die. Televised communication was developed as early as the late 1940s. Working remote was theoretically possible, but the potential of the television was never realized in business or in education.
Even the third industrial revolution, the computer age, which worked many social changes did not end the brick - and - mortar edifice. The computer revolution was followed by the advent of the internet which in a few years quickly linked every household and business. Once again there was no exodus from the brick - and - mortar edifice to meet the opportunities created.
Then the Wuhan - Corona virus allegedly hit; businesses were shuttered; working remote where possible became the order of the day. With the internet, it little matters whether the person working out of a New York City company is in Long Island, Westchester, or the Upper Adirondacks. Indeed, the workers need not be in New York or even the US. The exodus from New York City caused by lawlessness, the sacking of local business, lockdowns and random attacks by roving bands on white people has increased the sales value of exurban plots throughout Eastern Long Island and the Hudson River valley.
The Mentor: Point of Order, Lord Chair! I must indeed interject. Those who`ve relocated at a distance may find their joy short lived when the jobs they hold are shipped off to Pakistan and India.
The Chair: The Mentor should know he advocates those policies and politicians that make destruction of the country`s economy possible. Proceed, Dean.
The Dean: Babu English is incomprehensible in person. On the phone it is much worse. Recently, I had to ask a person from Balky - land who called to put someone on the phone who speaks better English. "I speak no Hindi and whatever you`re speaking ain`t English."
A local joke about local deplorables who haven`t yet sold off property holdings is that the deplorables, those hardy folk still hanging on, are waiting to see which state secedes first before the deplorables decide where to move.
The Mentor: Did not the Democrats in the Senate proceeding on the Impeachment of Citizen Trump accuse Mr Trump of inciting an insurrection?
The Chair: Mentor, the Dean has addressed the social division elsewhere. Let the Dean develop his point.
The Dean: Why should it have taken so long to depart from the brick - and - mortar edifice? In 1964, at the New York World`s fair AT&T exhibited its videophone. The former communication giant was prepared to market its videophone in 1968, but suddenly drew back. The excuse was women made most of the phone calls and wouldn`t want to be seen with a hair out of place. The public was not ready for such an intrusion that would put people on public display in their private space.
But was it solely a question of public acceptance of the possibilities of technology and public resistance to social transformations accompanied by change? The tenacity with which the brick - and - mortar edifice hung on past its useful life cannot be assessed in such terms.
The dictionary defines "ed - i - fice," n, as "1. a building, especially a large, imposing one." Note the word "imposing." The dictionary provides an alternate definition as "2. a complex system of beliefs … upon which fundamental concepts can be laid."
Edifice comes into English most directly from the French noun edifice which is derived from Latin aedificium "building," and aedificare "to erect a building." The Latin word carries with it an interesting prefex, aedis or aedes which connotes interestingly enough a "temple or sanctuary."
This concept that the brick - and - mortar edifice is a temple or sanctuary provides an important clue as to the staying power of the brick - and - mortar edifice against each successive technological innovation. The edifice represents permanency. It represents the pride of the business and projects the image of its creators. It establishes the business` identity. It`s a statement of prestige. It took the Wuhan - Corona virus to bring it down.
Today, in the wake of the Wuhan - Corona virus scare, the barrier between private and public space has vanished to the point that we have people working remote in their PJs or even in their underwear, to such an extent that the Courts have advised attorneys and litigants to dress properly before appearing in court by zoom.
The advantage to business is exactly those qualms expressed by employees, the loss of the Social atmosphere. US labor laws have made the US workplace into a vast junior high school in which conflicts over noses out of joint by exclusions from off - duty social gatherings are resolved in court. The US Supreme Court has been called in to resolve questions of intra - office politics. Recently it solemnly decided a case on the magnitude of a dispute over possession of a staple gun.
Remote work transfers a significant part of the business overhead, the cost of the space utilized, the electricity, the heat, the internet connection from the business to the employee. The employee can`t deduct the expenses thrust on him. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2018 took away Employee Business Expenses as a deduction.
However, the big losers will be the democratic controlled Big Cities that have descended into chaos. The cities may lose both property taxes as the abandoned brick and mortar establishments no longer collect rent and where applicable income taxes, as employee and employer are now located elsewhere.
With the loss of the edifice, the service support people who cleaned, policed, and maintained these architectural statements find themselves out of a job. We have heard that in New York City`s borough of homes, Queens County, there are bread lines a mile long. With the closure of the churches, by the diabolical duo of Satanism: Mayor Wilhelm Le Blasé of New York City and Governor Andreas Creidmora of New York State, the sources of private charity which ameliorate instances of hardship and which remonstrate with rulers over their excesses have been closed.
In addition, before the hysteria was spread by the Democratic Party, many merchants have abolished cash payments after certain hours; others make it difficult to pay by cash by refusing to provide change at the register or eliminating cash from the self - check out stands, telling you to stand over there and wait for a cashier to appear. Eventually, you may have to just give up and leave the basket and shop elsewhere.
The Mentor: Point of Information, Lord Chair. Prior to the spread of the pandemic, I did see the development of such scenarios during my rounds. Ostensibly, the rationale was to cut the number of robberies near closing time. Often, where I found myself in such an establishment, I would approach the manager to open a register for me. Sometimes, s/he would; other times I simply left the merchandise in the basket. Here in what the Society calls La - La Land, in response to that sort of many municipalities in response have required businesses to accept cash.
The Dean: New York City has adopted a similar law, but with the movement to de - fund the police, how will such a law be enforced? If say a Mentorially inclined customer comes in and demands to pay in cash, you might see passive resistance such as refusal to make change.
The Mentor: Point of Information, Lord Chair, what is the impact of the Legal Tender Act?
The Chair: That is beyond the scope of the Dean`s presentation. Out of Order Mentor.
The Dean: I agree with the Mentor to the extent that not all the change is to be welcomed, but considering the savings business will reap, these changes are inevitable. As the Lord Mentor has often said, the Society cannot stem the flow of change. It may only chronicle the progress of decline.
On that note, I thank the Lords Presiding, the Chair, Mentor and distinguished Societales for the opportunity to present the Dean`s speech.
The Chair: The Society, in its continuous session, will stand in recess until reconvened. Salve Fullosia!

Pierce Martin: America: The Wayward British Isle
We tend to be interested in America because it is the outer-skin of the British Isles, including my country the Republic of Ireland, and many parts of Europe. Forget about Trump, and political personalities for the moment. America is in a condition of civil war. This one is about the America of 1776, versus the America of 1619, when it was a British colony. The Democrats who have embraced radical-left progressivism, aim to eradicate 1776 and Anglo-American political culture and ideas, as the foundation stone of the United States of America. The Great Reset. And substitute that authentic foundation stone with 1619 when the first Africans arrived in the colonies as indentured servants, not actually slaves. The Republicans and Traditionalists want to retain 1776 as the foundation stone. Along with other factors the struggle between the Democrats and the Republicans is a deep ideological one for the soul of America. In my view 1776 and the Declaration of Independence and the assertion that " all men are created equal," is the only foundation stone of the United States of America, as many African- Americans have also believed like Frederick Douglass, and Booker T. Washington to name but two. But today a new generation of radical-left progressives, or neo-Marxists, want to destroy the America of John Adams ( who opposed slavery ) George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson who wrote that " all men are created equal," but was a slaveholder, but believed that slavery would die out in time. Of course the Democrats founded by Andrew Jackson in 1828 ( he was a slaveholder ) omit the the fact that free black- Americans owned slaves also. The institution of slavery was an abominable business. The Democrats were the party of slavery. The problem is also that Americans tend to confuse social democracy, with democratic socialism. And democratic socialism is being presented by people like Kamala Harris ( the real President elect ), as social democracy, which is market-based, unlike democratic socialism which is communism. Therefore America is facing into an uncertain future when Kamala Harris becomes President which will happen. And she will try and destroy America. 1619 in 1776, out. If she tries, there are at least 74 million Republican Trump voter`s who will try and stop her. One cannot rule out violence, if not only Republican votes are stolen, but if traditional America is also about to be stolen. Resistance by force will be resorted to. Uncharted waters lie ahead hence the intense interest in America. We should be concerned because what happens in America has a global impact. The UK is trying to pull away from Globalism. My country the ROI is inside the Globalist Left-liberal tyranny. The EU is an empire and is exploiting my country to the hilt. The Republic of Ireland should remember the Free Trade Agreement of 1965 with the UK and try to break free of the EU. And move close to Britain. We do not belong in the EU. 20 January 2021 Reference: Trump Impeachment: RPPS Modest Proposal
Dear Senator Addison Mitchell McConnell Jr: The gentlemen of the Rockaway Park Philosophical Society bid you greetings. As the only such society which regards America as the hope of mankind, we applaud your support of Quid Pro Jo and the Ho. It was very generous and humane of Quid Pro Jo and the Ho to allow the deceased veterans of the Rebel Army to vote in the last election for the sniff and blow team, especially while angry Democrats were busy all summer ripping down the statues dedicated to the defeated Confederacy and the members of its army killed in action 170 years ago. No matter, now that Trump is gone there is little sense in joining hands with Democrats to impeach Trump and renaming military bases dedicated to courageous Southern warriors. Until Quid pro Jo and the Ho cement themselves in power, they can allow you a little desk, a title and an office with a little nameplate on it. After that, the sniff and blow team may find even more useful Quislings. In the meantime, the Society suggests as its modest proposal that you could take up some useful task, like proposing amendments to the Confederate Constitution. Once again, yours for the Society, Sincerely,
